The Thakoon blue and saphron drape printed dress has been a favourite amongst the stars. First, Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing this printed wonder as she visited their Dash Store in Soho District in New York City on September 1st 2011. Kim paired hers with some hot Jimmy Choo valley platform sandals and cinched it up with a tan belt at the waist. Solange Knowles was spotted in the same dress a few days later to Gilt city’s fashion week soiree on September 10th 2011. Solange ditches the belt but glams it up as always with layered chainlink necklaces and an awesome ‘fro. She also adds a touch of colour (as if the dress is not colourful enough) with her Fendi sandals which I must say look quite very familiar. In fact click here to see where she has worn these Fendi shoes before. Happy to know some stars recycle clothing items too. So wore it better? Kim or So So? Now on to Rihanna who has been criticized recently by PETA (an organisation strongly against the abuse of animals). PETA is not in support of Rihanna’s blue feathered dress which she wore on the 20 August to promote her Reb’l Fleur perfume in London. The dress is made out of ostrich feathers and PETA claims Rihanna by wearing that dress is flaunting stolen property as the feathers have been plucked from their rightful owner and do not belong to her. According to the organisation, they expect Rihanna to be more sensitive to abuse such as this because she has once been the victim of physical abuse from her former partner (Chris Brown) before. “We keep hoping that Rihanna, a victim of violence herself, will learn to open her heart and start empathizing with the suffering of others,” the organization added.
Looking back at that outfit, I can’t help but notice a striking resemblance. And I realize I have seen this outfit before, on a parrot! So let’s get polling. Who rocked the feathers better? Rihanna or Parrot? Honest people, honest.
Thanks for indulging.
