As fun as colour-blocking is, there gets that time when you simply just feel like donning your favourite black trousers and white top for the day. Problem is, how do you wear black and white without people mistaking you for the waiter at a restaurant??? Pulling off monochrome looks can be quite tricky at times but here are a few pointers on how to turn heads in black and white.
Monochrome outfits usually convey seriousness, formal meetings and appointments. One way to carry a strong black and white look is to look well polished, mature and expensive. If you know what I mean. Ditch the casual backpacks and satchel bags for a more classy looking leather tote. Ditch the cotton tops for a sexy chiffon/silk blouse. Make-up should appear minimal but tactfully applied enough to stand out. Add a pair of heels for effect.

Another way to add punk to any black and white outfit is to break the monochrome with accessories of different colours. A brightly coloured shoe, a print purse or a sparkly belt will break the formal tones that any black and white look may carry.

For a more relaxed monochrome look, Why not try rocking a mini?

The right accessories and make-up also help make any black and white ensemble stand out.

Any monochrome look can be instantly ‘glamified’ by adding a leather biker jacket.

Instead of going for the traditional white shirt, black jacket; why not try switching things up? Try the inverse for a monochrome look with a difference.

Personalize your black and white and white ensemble by showing off your unique style. A retro blouse, funky hat, or trousers in tribal prints will add personality to your look.
