OOTD: Suit Up, Look Sharp

grey suit 5 a

I swear after holidays I always feel like taking a break from social media while I try to catch up with normalcy again. My Instagram feed (@artbecomesyou) is making me feel all kinds of guilty. Everyone is looking svelte and toned! I’m like, what did they have for Christmas?! I know I had everything. I mean literally ANYTHING I could lay hands on. I know.

OOTD: Magenta Lace

reiss dress pink 4ab

It’s holiday season and other than holidays off work and lots of food, one thing I love about holidays are shopping for bargains. Everywhere you go, it’s SALES, OFFERS, DEALS, BARGAIN! Which is where my problem with MAC Cosmetics lies…So am I the only one who has noticed that MAC hardly does any sales at all? On Cyber Monday and all other sales events you will see one dry poster that reads ‘FREE SHIPPING’ on their website… As if! I’m not here for it!

Throwback Thurday Special: Top 30+ Cartoons From My Childhood (CRTV Souvenirs Souvenirs)

You’ve probably watched most if not all of these if you were a child in the 90s growing up in Cameroon. My sister shared some hilarious throwback snaps with me yesterday. And not only did I almost pee myself looking at them but they brought back a lot of memories from way back. The good old days when I could watch (and later narrate) whole movies in Spanish on Malabo (Equatorial Guinea’s National TV, lol), the good old days when the highlight of my Sundays was watching Michael Knight and his magical talking car slay the baddies, when Accapulco Bay, L.A Law and Un Flic Dans La Mafia kept me on the edge of my seat…Those were the days.

Well I’ve relived all those memories again and I thought I’d share them with you. Les souvenirs de mon enfance. Just for fun! Do you remember these …

OOTD: Something Borrowed, Something Blue

By Posted on 3 1.2K

Something old,
something new,
something borrowed,
something blue,
and a silver sixpence in her shoe…

Well there was no silver sixpence in my shoe but I definitely had this rhyme in mind when I picked out the dress I was going to wear for my good friend, Iweusi Nyager’s wedding. I’ve been feeling floor-length maxi gowns with show-stopping slits lately. So this Lipsy number with its bandage top and low v-neck cut was calling my name is all kinds of languages. I just had to have it.

This Topshop Rosie tie up sandals are my favourite footwear at the moment. I’m going to Kim Kardashian the hell out of them!

Side note: ABY just hit 900,000 views over the weekend!! You don’t even know what …

OOTD: Paisley

One of my favourite quotes is ‘If you can’t go a day without thinking about something, then by all means pursue it.’

Now, I’ve had a myriad of emails and calls from friends, readers and family who are highly suspicious that I may have be going a little overboard with the shopping.

I’d like to put their worries to rest here and now by saying I’m not.  Cue the suspicious piercing eyes.

(Gives in). Okay I am a little. But. I have a method.

-First off, I’m a thrift hunter. I sniff out thrift shop bargains for a living. I live for them. The thrill about thrift shopping is that you never know what you’ll find. Oxfam, Salvation Army, Snooper’s Paradise, Cow Vintage etc aresome of my fave high street thrift/vintage stops. My leather cross-body bag is totally a thrift …

OOTD: Ankara

Finally! I’ve found this after a long search. Yes, I have been on the hunt for anything in the form of ankara or African print inspired. And then one day, on the 13th of February to be exact   I was just daydreaming past Topshop when I stumbled upon this beautiful skirt. I let out a little squel. I just had to have it.

This by no means signifies that I closing down all search parties for an African print dress, blazer, pant suit, shirt, bikini…you name it, I want it.

Please if you know someone who’s met someone who has access to any of these ready-made wears PLEASE contact me on artbecomesyou@yahoo.com.

I wish I was one of those who could whip sit at their sewing machines and whip out showstopping pieces overnight. Unfortunately, I cannot sew to …
