Camer Spotlight: Geli Forlefac

I like to treat my ABY readers and what better time for a well-deserved treat than on a Friday?! After a long and gruelling week of hard work, late nights and early mornings here’s something to make you smile. On Camer Spotlight this week is edgy Cameroonian model Miss Geli Forlefac. I shot a few quirky questions at the Grace-Jones-type-fierce model and here are the fun replies she had for me:

ABY: Let’s get the basic introductions in. Who’s Geli?  Well, first off, my family is straight from Cameroon. I was born in the States with the rest of my siblings and I guess that’s what they call first generation. I grew up in Maryland right outside of D.C around Silver Spring and Bethesda. I went to Bethesda Chevy Chase High school. I’m currently not enrolled in University. …

Camer Spotlight: Sama Ndango

Let’s just pretend I’ve not been away for a long period, skip the apologies and get into this. Now I’m proudly Cameroonian, and it came to my notice that there were a lot of young talented and innovative Cameroonians out there that were not getting as much credit as they deserve. I started this column to showcase their work and encourage other people who are thinking of doing a similar thing but have never had the encouragement to do so.

What are blogs for??

Sidenote: If you have an innovative story about something you’re doing in the community, let me hear it.

Thanks @Katia Berger as well. Her request made me think of doing this special post 🙂

Our first Camer feature is none other than the well-known Sama Ndango of The Sama Ndango Show …

OOTD: Paisley

One of my favourite quotes is ‘If you can’t go a day without thinking about something, then by all means pursue it.’

Now, I’ve had a myriad of emails and calls from friends, readers and family who are highly suspicious that I may have be going a little overboard with the shopping.

I’d like to put their worries to rest here and now by saying I’m not.  Cue the suspicious piercing eyes.

(Gives in). Okay I am a little. But. I have a method.

-First off, I’m a thrift hunter. I sniff out thrift shop bargains for a living. I live for them. The thrill about thrift shopping is that you never know what you’ll find. Oxfam, Salvation Army, Snooper’s Paradise, Cow Vintage etc aresome of my fave high street thrift/vintage stops. My leather cross-body bag is totally a thrift …

OOTD: Cornflower Blue

It’s official, I’m having a secret affair with the colour blue. I only noticed a few days ago that a lot my most recent purchases have been blue. And not just any blue. They are a deep cornflower blue to be specific. Jumpers, skirts, shoes and blouses. Do I secretly love that colour? I mean, I’ve always known that I loved yellow and orange. Black and white are a given. I’ve heard this happens to a lot of people. They get enthralled by something without even knowing it. It’s usually when they step back and take a good look at things that they discover how much they must have invested into a new found love/habit.

What are you unconsciously stocking on, that you thought you were not really into? Go on, have a look, and then come back and spill!

I’ve worn …
