OOTD: Spain

By Posted on 12 1.3K

I went on a blog hiatus and that’s because I’ve been away for a few weeks. Mathew & I just got back from our honeymoon/vacation in Spain. We visited Barcelona and a much smaller town on the ‘countryside’ called Sitges. It was beautiful! This is a quick post to share a few pics from the holiday.

I normally log around with my massive not-so-portable DSLR Canon Camera. But it gets tiring carrying a huge camera and lens around especially when you just want to have fun. This time I ditched it and used my Nokia Lumia 1020. The camera on this phone has been all the rave so I wanted to try it out. I got this phone for such emergencies and I must say it did a great job!

Gallery: A Few Nights in Paradise ( Part II)

A sequel to my previous post.

Day 2:

After a hefty French breakfast out on the town, I made no hesitation to hit the famous Nice beach. The seas were warm and blue, just the way I like it.

I practically spent all day at the beach on Day 2. But the next day I was ready for some Monte-Carlo sightseeing!

Monte-Carlo is the capital of Monaco which is small country just out of France. It’s mainly …

Summer Vacay: La Sirène Noire (Nice Day 1)

I’ve been aching for a well-deserved holiday for a while now. And finally got deserved it – thanks boo!
South of France was our choice destination. Our sojourn was split between Nice and Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Nice looks like movie set and Monaco is just…heaven. The scenery is everything. I’m hurting and still not over the fact that I’m back in good ol’ Birmingham but it’ll do for now. One thing I have to mention before I go on to uploading the vacay pics – it is burning hot. I’m a stern believer in black don’t crack, black don’t sunburn, all that stuff. But like hell we do! Five days of hard core sunshine and sea breeze and I’m tan as a loafer. Loving it!

We arrived pretty early on the first day so I hit the streets as soon as I’d put away my luggage. I was …

A Piece of Africa on the Beach

‘I have this great idea that no one has come up with yet. Create a swimwear that would (not only preserve my dignity but) preserve my cultural heritage and showcase my rich and colourful background…’ This has been a recurring train of thought on my mind until alas, some talented designer not only read my mind and stole my ideas, but they executed it pretty perfect as well. Let’s face it, I can’t draw a stick figure to rescue my kidnapped family, let alone sew. So there was no way I was going to make this idea come to fruition.
Designers like Aya Morrison and Bantu Wax are creating amazing swimwear looks that will revolutionize black women on the beach. Their beautiful ankara swimwear and bikini creations are just a sight to behold. If you plan on hitting the beach this summer, here are a few looks to inspire you. Hey, …
