The theme of the 2015 Met Gala, one of the most fashionable nights of the year; was “China: Through the Looking Glass,” and celebs definitely pulled out all the stops on the red carpet. This is supposed to be that one night where everyone takes the most fashion risks. So, let’s see who were our best and worst dressed at the 2015 Costume Institute Benefit Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Beyonce flaunted her slim bod in a Givenchy nude heavily embellished crystal dress. This is her go to dress, so no wow moment here. Even though I will admit this definitely the most daring version of the dress she has worn to date. Her face is slaying! Jay Z also tidied up in Givenchy.
Bad Gal Rihanna channelled canary yellow feels in a dramatic train gown by Chinese designer Guo Pei. She knows how to bring the drama and her dedication to fashion is apparent. The dress is not my cup of tea but it is very on with the theme and I applaud that.
Despite the mixed reviews, I actually loved Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney.
My style crush Hailee Steinfeld looked absolutely fabulous in a Michael Kors red gown.
Solange Knowles in Giles Deacon came through with that China theme. Hand posing inclusive. Love it!
Kerry Washington wore a pink Prada dress and green heels. I am on the fence.
Gabrielle Union was a beautiful breathe of fresh air in a Zac Posen burgundy dress. Stunning.
Amal Clooney went for layers in a red strapless John Galliano gown. I like it.
Miley Cyrus looked good in an Alexander Wang studded cut out dress.
A Roberto Cavalli sheer dress was Kim Kardashian’s choice of the night. She’s considered a ‘style icon’ by many so I expected more. This has been over played on the carpet 🙁
Kendall Jenner served model realness in a Calvin Klein Collection green dress. Love the cut out!
She’s known for bold silhouettes but Jennifer Lawrence surprisingly downplayed it in a Dior column dress with a cut out front. I love the beaded neckline.
Karlie Kloss in Versace was one of my faves by far.
FKA Twigs is definitely a best new style contender. Loved her in a Christopher Kane artsy dress. She doesn’t do normal.
Zendaya Coleman never takes a day off fun fashion risk taking. Her style is young and fearless and she looked the part in a Fausto Puglisi high low gown at the MET ball.
Gigi Hadid looked radiant in DVF dress.
Janelle Monae looked pretty in an H&M cape ensemble.
H&M was repping at the gala! Vanessa Hudgens also opted for a H&M beaded red dress.
Zoe Kravitz in Alexander Wang. I am always here for her style and effortless aura.
Rita Ora skewed sexy in Tom Ford.
Taraji P. Henson looked stunning in Balenciaga.
Karolina Kurkova looked stunning in Tommy Hilfiger. Yasss!
It was all about tulle for Alicia Keys and I loved it.
Lily Aldridge in Carolina Herrera was one of my top looks of the evening. Want that fish purse!
Supermodel elite, Naomi Campbell looked sensational in Burberry Prorsum.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was a stunner in Atelier Versace.
Selena Gomez was pretty in a Vera Wang white dress. I didn’t care for the head piece though.
Emily Ratajkowski’s Topshop floral dress will be sold out by tomorrow morning. Hot!
Hailey Baldwin also opted for Topshop. Want this dress!
Joan Smalls wore a Roberto Cavalli floral appliqué dress. Waist is snatched!
Here for Olivia Munn in that ombre J. Mendel dress.
Adriana Lima looked killer in Marc Jacobs. That hair and makeup!
Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein Collection. That is one hot dress. Darn!
Tassels are in! Sienna Miller rocked a red Thakoon number. Gorgeous.
Lady Gaga brought geisha realness in a Balenciaga dress.
Jennifer Lopez in Atelier Versace. She looks great but we’ve seen better from her.
Kris Jenner in Balmain looked beautiful. Would’ve gone for different shoes.
Claire Danes in Valentino was a good look for me. Love it.
Leave it to Sarah Jessica Parker to make H&M look like haute couture.
Emily Blunt went back to her Prada days and rocked a caped dress from the brand. Beautiful.
Diane Kruger seldom fails. She looked hot in a Chanel ensemble.
Chrissy Teigen looked great in a St. John black low back dress. Too safe but I love the hair.
Elizabeth Banks pulled off turquoise beautifully in a Michael Kors dress. Love her style.
I have a feeling I might be one of the only few who absolutely love Courtney Eaton in Dolce & Gabbana.
Behati Prinsloo looked radiant in Tommy Hilfiger .
Katy Perry looked beautiful in Moschino by Jeremy Scott.
I love stripes so I loved Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Roland Mouret dress. Very beautiful.
Anne Hathaway looked like a life size golden globe in a Ralph Lauren Collection hooded gold lamé dress. Already laughing at the memes that will follow. She asked for it.
Reese Witherspoon opted for a simple look in a Jason Wu dress. Pretty.
Kate Mara in DVF looked sensational.
Sofia Vergara in Marchesa looked beautiful but her style is so one note. I’m bored.
Lily Collins looked dainty in Chanel.
Olivia Wilde wore a Prada dress. I love the dress sans gloves.
Amanda Seyfried also looked stunning in Givenchy.
Dakota Johnson looked super cute in a Chanel mini dress. Am I crazy for liking this?
Karen Elson in Dolce & Gabbana was like, The Queen mad or nah??? D&G is here for the headpieces and I’m loving all of them!
Kristen Wiig in Prabal Gurung was a stunner.
Allison Williams in a Giambattista Valli red tulle gown.
Madonna covered up in Moschino.
Anna Wintour’s daughter, Bee Shaffer looked pretty in Alexander McQueen.
Gong Li was sensational in Roberto Cavalli velvet gown.
Girl crush Georgia May Jagger looked effortless in a Gucci geisha iteration. One of the few to follow the night’s theme.
Kate Hudson wore a Michael Kors column gold dress. Hmmmm.
Poppy Delevingne in a Marchesa floral applique dress.
Katie Holmes pulled out a new fringe hairdo in a Zac Posen dress.
Keri Russell looked great in an Altuzarra feather dress.
Anna Wintour in Chanel.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen co-ordinated black outfits in Vintage John Galliano for Dior.
Emma Roberts in Ralph Lauren Collection
Lizzy Caplan in a Donna Karan Atelier draped metallic dress.
Dianna Agron in Tory Burch
Chloe Sevigny brought her own flava in a J.W. Anderson dress.
Who made your best dressed list?
I loved Elizabeth Banks, Karlie Kloss, Beyonce, Rose Byrne, Lily Aldridge and Sienna Miller.
Happy Tuesday and God bless!

May 8, 2015Just makes me think marriage has become an accessory rather than…. just saying the way these women carry themselves. what’s the point in getting married. To each their own let me face my comments.

May 5, 2015– I might be one of the very few people who didn’t like the queen’s (Bey) look. I would have loved to see her in that Atelier Versace dress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore in Bey’s skin tone. I feel like I’m over the mesh/transparency thing specially the ones where there’s more transparency and the jewels are strategically placed just to hide the unmentionables. I feel like it was exciting when it started but the shock factor is gone. I think Rihanna showed us how the transparency should ultimately be done when she wore that stunning crystal covered dress and that for me was a “drops the mic” moment in fashion where nobody else will be able to out-do what she did. We need to move on.
– Lady Gaga ruined that gorgeous coat-dress with that make up/styling. That dress had the potential to be one of the best pieces of the night and you just couldn’t get passed the make up. There’s a way of interpreting a theme without making it into a costume @everybodywhoturnedtheiroutfitsintocostumes lol.
– I think Solange and Fan BingBing won it for the night. Surprised you didn’t have a picture of Fan BingBing’s outfit. It was stunning!
