For viewers in the UK, most red carpet shows hosted in America including the Golden Globes always come on at such ungodly hours. For the first time this year though, I can stay up and recap the red carpet live. Yay! So far, the carpet has looked promising. Let’s go in and find out who’s slacking and who didn’t come here to play.
Olivia Culpo in Zuhair Murad was one of my favourite looks of the night. That print couture gown is simply breathtaking. So much detail.
My fairy godaunty Kerry Washington rendered me speechless with yet another flawless look. Her lace bustier midi dress was dotted with heavy embellishments and crystals. I love how she completed the look with a plum lip.
I’m gonna need Janelle Monae to spill the beans on how she manges to look like a flawless black Barbie every time! She donned on yet another creative black and white ensemble in the form of an Armani PrivΓ© gown with a waterfall hem and sequin bodice. Haute!
Jessica Biel was all about stopping the show. Her dipped v-neckline velour gown with 3D flower embellishments was beyond stunning.
Tracee Ellis Ross was all about flashing her accessories. She brought the sparkle in a Zuhair Murad midi dress. She’s gorgeous.
If I looked this good in a suit, I’d definitely wear it to the red carpet. Evan Rachel Wood, girl serve!
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend never disappoint. Their couple game is strong AF. They always bring it.And the golden globes 2017 red carpet was not an exception.
The Queen Mother of fashion, Naomi Campbell herself came to reming the youngins that she was still in charge. SLAY.
Insecure‘s Issa Rae opted for immaculate white and I’m here for it. This is her moment. I’m rooting for her all the way. Hope she wins in her category. Well deserved. She’s looking snatched too. Go Issa!
Naomie Harris looked beautifully elegant as usual in a gold column dress with embellishments.
Jessica Chastain looked amazing in a baby blue dress with embellishments. People don’t wear this colour enough on the red carpet and they should because she looks stunning in it.
This is how you do maternity style! Mummy-to-be Natalie Portman looked stunning in a chartreuse Prada dress with icy white crystal embellishments. I’m in love.
Hailee Steinfield looked surreal in a lavender gown.
Also in a Zuhair Murad creation was Lily Collins. who was having a princess moment in a light pink floral number. They have the best red carpet gowns. I live for all that detail.
Karrueche Tran looked pretty in a pink satin Dolce & Gabbana dress.
Emily Ratajkowski smized in a Reem Acra yellow embellished dress. Love it.
Carrie Underwood was pretty a flower; literally ,in a pink column gown. This is such a girly girl look and I’m here for it. One of my top looks of the evening.
Sophie Turner’s stylish sheer number caught my eye. I’d wear it.
Gina Rodriguez opted for a sparkly fringe number. Pretty.
Mandy Moore looked stunning in a charcoal cape dress.
Ruth Negga is stunning. She opted for a Β Louis Vuitton silver sequin embellished, zip-front gown.
I see my girl Blake Lively went ahead and snapped right back without even warning me. I see you Blake. Keep serving. I’m here for you. Always been.
Reese Witherspoon looks pretty but this shade of yellow slightly washes her off her skin unfortunately.
Viola Davis let her melanin glisten against a canary yellow sequin gown.
I’m all for midi showstoppers on the red carpet and Heidi Klum looked good in hers.
I was not too keen on Zoe Saldana’s ruffle Gucci gown.
A beaded gold dress was on hand for the stunning Priyanka Chopra.
Aly Raisman, Simone Biles and Madison Kocian looked so adorbs on the carpet. Love them. How cute is Simone next to swimmer Colin Dwyer (below)?!
Angela Bassett was serving some black don’t crack realness in a dusty pink bardot dress. That body!
Susan Kelechi Watson is gorgeous. She kept it classic in black sequin column dress.
Sofia Vergara is not in a bodycon mermaid dress and I’m here for it! She donned a Zuhair Murad couture gown for the occasion and it was stunning. I like where her 2017 style is going.
Michelle Williams looked demure in a Louis Vuitton lace off-shoulder bardot dress accessorised with a black choker.
Milly Bobby Brown from Stranger Things looked pretty. I wish she’s had a less severe hairdo though. This slick bob is a tad too severe for a 12 year old. I know she just wanted to serve pure sass and let y’all know she ain’t your average 12 year old. OKAY, Milly Bobby!
Chrishell Stause andΒ Justin Hartley looked absolutely stunning together.
Kristen Bell was also in a black sequin dress by Jenny Packham. Lovely.
Claire Foy from The Crown opted for a pastel sequin number.
Sequins were winning on this carpet. Thandie Newton wore a simple white column off-shoulder dress with a ‘dipped in sequin’ hemline. Gorgeous. I like it.
Giuliana Rancic looked stunning in a floral print gown.
Louise Roe opted for a white dress which featured one of this year’s top trends – embroidery. Love it.
A grey number was on hand for Anna Kendrick.
Amy Adams donned a strapless sequin fitted dress.
I feel like everyone looked great at this years golden globes, no? Even the meh looks were not fugly. I can’t pick a favourite because I have so many!
Olivia Culpo, Carrie Underwood,Kerry Washington and Chrissy Teigen have a slight advantage though. Adore their looks.
What about you?
