H E A L I N G: ⁣How’s everyone doing so far today?⁣⁣Revisiting one of my favourite books by @theijeoma and almost every quote is relatable in the middle of this revolution that’s happening. ⁣⁣“1. You must let the pain visit.⁣2. You must allow it teach you.⁣3. You must not allow it overstay.”⁣⁣— Ijeoma Umebinyuo, Questions for Ada⁣⁣Pain comes in different forms. Pain can be quiet. Pain can sneak up on you. Remember it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and also okay to log off and recuperate. ⁣⁣What’s happening is painful but it is NECESSARY. It’s allowed so many black people to express years and years of pent up pain, anger and frustration.⁣⁣But remember to allow yourself to heal ✊🏾🙏🏾 ⁣ #blacklivesstillmatter

P U L L U P: Morning ig fam. Diversity is a strength, not a threat ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 It’s amazing the support we’ve seen for #BlackLivesMatter over the last few days but let’s keep the momentum going. This is just the beginning. We’re not going to dismantle in a week, racism that has been in-built for decades and it’s going to take more than posting black squares on the feed. Let’s keep calling out BS where we see it. Here for @jackieaina ‘s call for brands to #pulluporshutup 🙌🏾 PS: I shared in my stories my example of a brand that needs to do better when it comes to matching up their actions with their words...

Golden Globes 2018 Black Dress Code (#MeToo)

By Posted on 0 Comments 228 views

2018 is starting off as a positively strong Year of the Woman. Actresses will be wearing all black to Golden Globes this year to protest gender inequality and sexual abuse. They will also be taking activists to the carpet with them. I’m all for this movement which is empowered by the #MeToo movement. Tarana Burke, the #MeToo founder, will accompany Michelle Williams on the red carpet. Fashion-wise, I’m very intrigued and looking forward to see how creative the celebrities get in styling their all black looks. Are you? Let’s get into them:

Tracee Ellis Ross

Kendall Jenner and her new lips turned up wearing Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture.

Diane Kruger was one of my favourites in a Prada dress, Fred Leighton jewellery and Judith Leiber clutch.

Helen Mirren and Viola Davis

Tarana Burke and Michelle Williams

Angelina Jolie

Mariah Carey
