A couple weeks ago the lovely Adjoa of Ankara House sent me two beautiful African printed pieces… I was gutted because it’s getting to winter and Ankara has such a summery feel about it. But last Sunday, we experienced a bout of miraculous sunshine and I took the chance to pop on my print dress. It was that hot that we went out in sandals and without jacket. This has to be my favourite shoot because the day felt like a holiday and everyone kept asking me where I got my dress from 🙂 I am so in love with the quality of the items Adjoa sent me. If you’re mad about ankara print like myself, you’re in luck! Ankara House have a special offer for the Art becomes you family. Using the discount code ArtbecomesAnkara will get you 15% off anything in store. You just have to enter ArtbecomesAnkara at the checkout to get your discount. This offer is going to be running all month long (ending 5th December) so be sure to treat yourself.
The other item I received was a maxi peplum skirt. I can’t wait to style it!

ABY: What is special bout House of Ankara?
AH: Ankara House is a brand that is all about making African print modern, affordable and easily accessible. We believe that for anyone who loves Africa and African culture, expressing that love shouldn’t have to cost a whole lot so our aim is to connect the lovers of Africa and of African print with products that they’ll love and that they can have without having to break the bank. We have started this with clothing and we are working on expanding into homeware and accessories soon. The fact that we are online as opposed to being a brick and mortar store means that people from all over the world can connect with us.
ABY: Which woman do you design for?
AH: The Ankara House woman is a bold and confident woman with varied taste, a strong sense of self and a great love for Africa. She is fearless, loves to standout and isn’t afraid of colour and prints
ABY: Where do you see AH in years to come?
AH: Well, in the years to come, we’re looking towards building a brand that is at the forefront of the fashion and lifestyle retail industry. We want to be competing with major high street stores like House of Fraser and T.K Maxx, providing everything from clothing through homeware to stationary that is high quality and all African print based.
