OOTD: How To Simply Slay Summer Trends

The summer has taken quite a while to come around but it is safe to say (fingers crossed) that it’s finally here! Cue the flowy dresses, bright colours, and fun prints. My go-to stop for essentials this season has been simplybe.co.uk. If you like myself are after a silhouette that is both flattering yet forgiving after a delicious lunch, then you’re in the right place.

Simply Be stocks sizes 12-32. One thing I didn’t have to worry about was my dress coming up tight.

Wearing (all size 12):

Simply Be Tie-Dye Orange Wrap Dress

Simply Be Woven Bucket Bag

Simply Be Wide-Leg Pleated White Trousers

Simply Be Yellow Bardot Broderie Dress

The first item I picked was this beautiful woven bucket bag. Woven and straw bags have taken over as one of this year’s biggest trends. Absolutely in love with this one is it was a lot bigger and roomier than I expected. Plus it is lined so everything wasn’t slipping through or visible through the straw strands. It’s also very versatile as it can be either handheld or used as a shoulder bag. I literally threw everything in there as a ran errands about all day. Such a keeper. Love it.

Tie-dye is having a fashionable come-back moment. It’s not a trend I would gravitate towards but I’ve been looking for the perfect piece that shows off the trend in a style and colour that I would normally wear. This crinkle tie-dye wrap dress is THAT dress. It’s absolutely stunning. I cannot even count the number of complements I got in this dress. One thing I really love about this dress is that I see myself wearing it not just in the summer. This can be layered with tights on in colder months. It’s also not one of those wrap dresses that leave you exposed as soon as there’s a bit of wind. This does not do that. I would buy this in every colour if they stocked more of it. Hahaha. That’s how comfortable I felt in it. Gorgeous.

These pleated wide-leg white trousers were a last minute addition. I love a piece that pushes me to style something out of my comfort zone. I envisioned an all-white summery evening look and it turned out beautifully. I actually think they could be worn by a bride for a civil ceremony and styled with a white gorgeous white silk billowy blouse. Do you see it? I do and it’s breathtaking. It moves so beautifully in the wind too. To be fair someone thought I was headed to my signing which is where the idea came from and I love it. Haha!

Broderie is romantic. It’s girly and feminine and so pretty. It’s this season’s must-have. Which is exactly why I could not resist it in this beautiful sunset yellow bardot broderie dress. It pops against the skin and is just so vibrant and uplifting. If you prefer something a little more neutral, the dress also comes in white. Which trends are you drawn to this year? Which are you steering clear of? Which look is your favourite?
