The CFDA Fashion Awards is iconic for producing some of the the biggest fashion moments that go down in history. The annual event took place yesterday. So was history made? There was a lot of glitter, metallics, prints, draping and nudity. Let’s see who wore what:
Rihanna received the fashion icon of the year award. To whit, she kept every staring and talking. Her sheer custom made Adam Selman gown made entirely out of Swarovski crystals left nothing to the imagination. The gown came equipped with matching gloves and a scarf. Of course she looked good in it! Her body is the deal. Her unapologetic nature is what her fans have come to know and love her for.
See the BadGal’s victory twerk. LOL!
Solange Knowles was not one to be left behind. Her sparkly custom made Calvin Klein dress was made to perfection. Love the hair and pink lips. What a fabulous comeback from the elevator episode.
Jennifer Hudson closely followed in a black gown
Chanel Iman looked every bit the supermodel in a Monique Lhuillier beaded gown.
Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford just complemented each others flawlessness. Naomi’s irridiscent gown and Tyson’s tuxedo were to die for.
Joan Smalls slayed in a cut out sexy gown and tousled hair.
Heidi Klum had me feeling thirsty for a fruit shake in this gorgeous maxi dress by Donna Karan. Very apt for the season. What a peachy delight!
Lupita Nyongo’o went bold in print. I wish the trousers were full and wide-legged instead of culottes but her face stayed flawless. If only she’d leave those hairpieces alone…
Chrissy Teigen was one of my favourites of the evening in a persimmon blazer and laser cut overlay dress by Rachel Roy. Nude Louboutin pumps finished her look. Yes!
Alicia Quarles looked pretty in a duchess satin crop shell top and a full matching skirt in bisque by Tia Cibani. Not my favourite look from her. Cute ensemble but the shoes are wrong. She’s beautiful though.
Blake Lively was dressed by Michael Kors in a playful and cute ensemble. I loved everything but the shoes. Blake is my girl though 😉
Style star Olivia Pallermo mixed textures in a fur top and fringe pencil skirt. Her shoes also featured some interesting detail. Nice.
Alessandra Ambrosio was a sight to behold in a strapless red silky gown.
Liya Kebede nailed effortless chic in a white blouse and print pencil skirt.
Yassss to Jessica Stam‘s white wide-legged jumpsuit with a cute keyhole cut on the front. I’d wear this now.
Emmy Rossum looked great in an olive green lace-inset gown by J.Mendel.
Marion Cotillard sported a white lace dress by Dior with a rather unique spin on the peplum trend. Interesting.
Bridget Moynahan went bold in a purple strapless dress. Nice.
Beth Behrs looked chic in a green crop top and maxi skirt. Love her shoes.
Stacey Bendet
Iman Abdulmajid‘s dress was little bit dated for my taste.
Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen underwhelmed me in their black garments.
Rachel Roy rocked a floral gown underneath a black blazer.
Sophia Bush looked beautiful in a white lace Marchesa gown. She could do without the necklace. Otherwise, stunning.
Hilary Rhoda was another favourite of mine. That peach fishtail lace dress is just stunning!
Zoey Deutch looked pretty in a floral skater dress.
My gay man crush Tom Ford looked dapper as usual.
Thom Browne pulled off the shorts suit.
Marc Jacobs was another dapper designer on the carpet.
Italo Zuccheli and Victor Cruz
