I’m having the most perfect weekend ie warmly wrapped in my favourite cardigan, finishing a home-cooked meal while watching back to back catch up episodes of Breaking Bad: I’m having the time of my life.
Which doesn’t sound half as fun as what some of our favourite fashion-loving celebs were up to last night as they hit the red carpet at the 2013 Soul Train Music Awards. Bodycons, cut outs and mesh detailing abounded on the red carpet. Let’s see the round up:
Jennifer Hudson looked scrumptious in an Art Deco-patterned Balmain Spring 2012 dress, which boasts a short hemline and low-cut front. Her short cut really works for her. Hot!
Ashanti looked gorgeous in a sheer blush dress. Hot as usual.
Chris Brown’s latest protege, Sevyn Streeter shut it down in a plunging neck dress. Super cute. Love the rings too.
Toni Braxton is just flawless. She stepped out on the carpet with singer Babyface. They are both promoting their upcoming duet collabo album Love Marriage & Divorce, due out February 4th.
Janelle Monae always manages to look chic and fresh in her trademark black and white look. I want her shoes.
Malinda Williams was beautiful as always in a white ruffle peplum dress.
Chrisette Michele was rocker chick in a black skater dress with a leather bustier. She always looks cute but the chest area looks a tad ill-fitted.
Bridget Kelly looked sleek in a black dress.
Alicia Quarles looked flawless in a perfect-for-fall purple jumpsuit.
Michelle Williams looked pretty in a green print dress.
Keshia Knight Pulliam looked gorge in a blue dress. Her Jimmy Choo pumps are to die for.
Faith Evans looks beautiful as ever! A print bodycon dress and strappy sandals were her pick for the evening.
Say what you want but Lil’ Mama is not letting go of her green locks. Not now anyway. I’m not feeling her outfit here but her face is beat.
The ever-sultry Vivica A. Fox opted for box braids for the event. Hot!
‘Down A** Chick’ Charli Baltimore is back and looking fly! Who remembers her? Hope she sticks around, I’m loving her look here.
The beautiful Nicole Ari Parker and husband Shemar Moore were on hand.
K Michele and her trademark red locks rocked the carpet.

MC Lyte made her mark in leather.

Chaka Khan showed young Hollywood how it’s done.

Nigerian artist, Iyanya repped for Africa.

And there you have it.
Whose look rocked your boat? Whose didn’t?
Enjoy your Saturday.
