So So Style

Solange Piaget Knowles proved that she wasn’t just ‘Beyonce’s younger sister’ when she took the the world by storm with her unique tunes and her album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams in 2008  peaked at number nine in the US Billboard 200 chart. Solange, ever since has proven that she is not merely a force to be reckoned with but she is also one to make huge statements (fashion statements at that). Solange style can only be described as unique and artistic. She will wear trends that others fear to wear, and morph with each drastic hair change to another as if it was no man’s business. I am seriously inspired by her style and i was not the only one to take note of how such a style icon she is.  She is one of the faces of …

Castle Galleries- A Great Stumble Upon.

By Posted on 0 591

I was three hours early for an appointment in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire so I decided to scan the area and get to know it better seeing as it was my first time being there. I was absentmindedly walking down the streets when I noticed this sign that read Castle Galleries‘ and decided I had three hours to spare so why not have a quick look through. I am glad I decided to check it out because I was speechless the moment I walked in. It is a small and cozy gallery mind you. But the art it contained could not have been produced by small minds. There was something  for everyone. The quirky types, the romantics, the absurd, nature’s lovers and every genre you can possibly imagine. I found myself particularly drawn to the quirkiness of Peter Smith, the absurd yet captivating qualities of Mark …

Installations!

By Posted on 0 622

Enjoy this brilliant note which I found online. I did NOT write it. But whoever did IS a genius!

A woman writes to her Office IT Technical support:

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the Flower And Jewelry Applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5.0, MONEY 3.0 and FOOTBALL 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate House …

Stickwork

I was reading an article about unusual art today when I came across this impressive sculpture by Patrick Dougherty and decided to look him up.  Patrick Dougherty is a stickwork and branch-bender extraordinaire. what I would call a ‘branch master’. I was absolutely awestruck by his breathtaking sculptures. I was so impressed that I just had to share some pictures of his amazing sculptures on here.
BIO
Combining his carpentry skills with his love of nature, Patrick Dougherty began to learn about primitive techniques of building and to experiment with tree saplings as construction material. Beginning about 1980 with small works, fashioned in his backyard, he quickly moved from single pieces on conventional pedestals to monumental site-specific installations that require sticks by the truckload. To date he has built over two hundred such massive sculptures all over the world. Here are some of his sculptures.

Soap & Glory : Honky Dory

By Posted on 0 1.3K

I only started using Soap & Glory products about six months ago but I must admit I am addicted to the core! Soap & Glory makes the best skincare and cosmetic products that I have tried so far. The first product I tried was the Clean on Me creamy shower gel. I have not been able to stop using that shower gel ever since!
Soap & Glory is proof that beauty products can be beautifully packaged, affordable and do what they promise all at the same time. The Soap & Glory brand is a vintage-inspired beauty product range. It was started by Bliss spa founder Marcia Kilgore. It is popular for its pink and flirty-feel packaging and cheeky pun-intended product names such as Glow Job, Clean of England, The Firminator and Sexy Mother Pucker just to name a few.

Denim Fever

  • Denims are about the only item of clothing that would match anything in your closet. everyone needs a pair of denim jeans for that day when it’s so impossible to decide what they want to wear. The exciting thing about denims is you can pair them with almost any outfit that you can possibly think of.
  • The Denim Trouser is the first essential for any wardrobe.  They could be wide, white washed or distressed and still make you look fab. They are very versatile and you could easily turn them from a casual day look to a dressy night look.

Ini Edo wows in this pair of 'booty' hugging denims that just make you want to grab one of your own.

Project Runway Style- Black is Back

By Posted on 0 597

Kim Kardashian rock black well (aside from the wardrobe malfunction).
Seems like black is the new yellow for the judges on the hit show Project Runway which is to return to the big screen come July the 29th 2011. Season 9 of the show features up to 20 new aspiring designers which is the highest number of contestants the show has ever started with. It also features judges Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, Heidi Klum and Kim Kardashian as a guest judge.  I personnally am addicted to this show and absolutely can’t wait for it to begin. Hope the contestants can ‘Make it work!’

The judges rock the black theme on the shooting of a new episode.

Colour Blocking Unlocked (The Secrets).

By Posted on 0 674

Add some colour to your manicure!
Colour blocking has for the most part been a no go fashion area. That’s because most people who dare to colour have ended up looking drastically like a poor imitation of a rainbow. But this summer you don’t need to worry about that! The secrets to colour blocking have been unlocked! Fashion experts (like us, lol) have found a way to mix contrasting colours to make them look appropriately eye catching. With stars like Kim Kardashian, Cheryl Cole and Rihanna leading the trend, colour blocking is obviously this summer’s MUST DARE!

  • The first thing to know about colour blocking is ALWAYS choose colours from different hues. Choosing colours from the same hue or shade does not work because one shade (usually the stronger shade) tends to wash out the other lighter one. Choose two strong colours from different hues. For example, …

Bright here, Bright now.

This summer, keep your look fresh and updated with a pop of colour. Go bright and bold. It could be a bold outfit like the Maxi dress in the picture below. Notice how she tones down the brightness of the outfit by wearing nude shoes and little or no accessories.  Or instead you could wear a simple outfit and add a pop of colour to it by wearing bright accessories like Fergie does. You can get cool Yellow Peep Toe Platform Heel Pumps for just £10.45 at  http://www.amiclubwear.com/shoes-heels.
