About Me

Hey there. I’m Lydie, and you just commenced your good deed of the day by stopping by!

My ‘About Me’ page should hopefully give you more insight into who I am as a person, my personal interests and why I started blogging.

-My full name is Lydia Epangué Enjema. I was named after my paternal grandmother, Lydienne. Hence Lydie. Idylle is my name spelled backwards in French 😉

-I was born on 6 May. My star sign is Taurus.

-I’m a twenty something year old (don’t pry!) Cameroonian. Born and raised in Limbe. My Dad is a Francophone Bakossi native from Nkongsamba (osso osso!) and my Mummy dearest a Bakweri.

-I’m a Christian.

-I have 3 younger siblings ; Alida, Barbie & Tommy-Donald.

-I currently live in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

-I’m married to the man I’ve now turned into my photographer 😉 Mathew Paul Warke. He’s the B.E.S.T.

-I have never considered myself a stylist. I am more-so a writer with a passionate penchant for fashion.

-I am enthusiastic about books, food, TV shows, writing, sleeping, shopping and  family.

-This blog chronicles my style evolution and my attempts at creative writing.

-My favourite colours are yellow, black, white, electric blue, fuchsia or tangerine because I look best in them!

-I love to read books by Margaret Atwood, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Stephen King, Marian Keyes , Markus Zusak.

-The best book I’ve ever read was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, Americanah’ by Chimamanda Ngozi, I Do Not Come To You By Chance by Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani are other favourites.

-I am frightened by snakes, thunder storms and heights.

-My favourite movie of all time is …there are so many. Inglorious Basterds, Pulp Fiction…urghhhh! I’ll come back to this.

-My favourite show is…Office UK. Oh dear, Ricky Gervais is the funniest living person.

-I watch…way too many TV shows. Scandal, Hostages, Pretty Little Liars, Project Runway, Drop Dead Diva, Devious Maids, Britain’s & Ireland’s Next Top Model, House of Cards, An African City, The Apprentice, The Good Wife…you name it. I’ll add it to my playlist queue. Hahaha, poor Matty.

-My all-time role models are Richard Branson, Chimamanda Ngozi, Maya Angelou.

-Fashion role models are – Naomie Harris, Kerry Washington, Solange Knowles, Blake Liveley & Genevieve Nnaji. YAASSSS!
-I would like to be like … Lupita Nyongo’o because… she defied every odd.

  2. Normally I do not read article on blogs, but I wish to say that this write-up very pressured me to take a look at and do it! Your writing taste has been amazed me. Thanks, very nice article.

  3. I was suggested this web site by my cousin. I’m now not certain whether this submit is written by way of him as nobody else recognize such exact about my difficulty. You’re amazing! Thanks!

Hi! My name is Sue, and I’m from SlimKicker, a diet/fitness app and online website. I found your blog yesterday and it captured my interest!

I’m contacting you b/c we’re about to release a fitness tracker (similar to FitBit) early next year, and are looking for bloggers who would be interested in receiving 1 for free to review when it is out (negative or positive).

Would you be interested in doing this? You can email me at: sue (at) slimkicker (com) with ‘Review’ in the email heading if you are.

Just to let you know, our online website SlimKicker basically turns your diet/fitness goals into a level up game. The tracker will work with the website, and allow people to track calories burned and number of steps they walk automatically. The more they exercise, the more points they rack up! That’s basically how it will work.

Anyway, hope to hear back either way…

    – Sue
