This Spring 2013 monochome, stripes, two-tone and mauve are dominating colour palettes. So as far as I am concerned, this is going to be a perfect spring because I love me some black and white. If you have been reading my OOTDs you’ll know I’m a huge sucker for skirts. And like me, if you’re looking to upgrade your style this year, then you’d definitely want one of these babies in your closet. Here are some ideas on how to wear my top skirt picks this season. Click on titles to visit shop link.
1. The Two-Tone Pencil Skirt – Mango
This piece is so classy and sits well with trending colour hues this season. It looks well expensive; like a Stella McCartney skirt; and it is excellent value for money. Only £29.99! I have a feeling this is going to sell out really fast. Definitely adding this one to my collection.
Because this skirt looks haute to me, I decided to keep it simple and maintain the monochrome vibe it is giving me. I’ve paired it with a beautiful two-tone top and a statement leather bag. A red lip is the only pop of colour on this look. I can totally see Solange Knowles in this. No?
2. The Colour Block Leather Mini Skirt – Zara
What’s not to love about this? Zara always finds a way to keep shoppers coming back for more. This mini skirt is my new lust item this season. It’s so reminiscent of a grown girls version of a glam night out. Yep, it’s time to give up all the cheesy minis. If I’m gonna do a mini skirt, I’m gonna do it with some taste. And that’s one tasteful mini skirt right there at £39.99.
Do you like how I’ve dressed it up?
3. Leather Look Pleat Skirt – Topshop
I don’t know if red goes out of style for you, but for me it doesn’t. This pleat skirt looks so delicious. You can go playful and really casual and wear it a pair of vans or you can dress it up with heels. Get it from Topshop at only £28.
How I would wear it:
4. The Pencil Skirt – H&M
Always in the mood for a bargain, H&M serves this black and white print pencil skirt at £24.99. This is one of those skirts that you’d feel tempted to experiment the print on print look with. There are so many way creative ways to rock this. A closet-must.
I paired prints and see what I came up with.
You love? How would you wear these pieces? Which look is your favourite? Well Mango and H&M are two strong winning looks for me.

February 6, 2013I love this skirt, bought it in black and it looks really smart. The pattern is subtle but noticeable and stylish. I am 5’8 and the regular length is perfect for me. I am really looking forward to wearing this a lot. I have not washed it yet so can’t comment on how well it will wear.
