It’s the peak of summer and whilst hunting for the perfect swimwear, I have stumbled upon a good few surprises that I thought I’d share!
Established in 2009, NAKIMULI has quickly become a favourite. It celebrates women and different body types. I am a fan of the bright colours and prints.
Or ‘The Neoprene Bikini’ is the latest swimwear craze. Their edgy and pastel-coloured designed have won the hearts of many including yours truly. What draws me to Triangl especially is the neoprene. It will lat twice as long as any other polystyrene fabric and these designs look yum!
Beyonce broke the internet in their white two-piece bikini. Need I say more? The Trefle aesthetic is very classic chic. I also love that they include plus sizes.
Andrea Iyamah for me is a brand that embodies the essence of the fierce African ethnic vibe whilst incorporating edgy and modern silhouettes. Located in Ontario Canada, the brand caters to many females across borders looking to rock a fabulous piece to an event or an edgy bathing suit on a steamy vacation.
It’s all about graphic and bold prints for this Aussie swimwear brand. It was print. After print. After print. I was gripped. With motifs like these, I love how the cuts are kept classic. A strong favourite for sure.
This should be a household name. And to think I stumbled upon Okun by chance. I was completely taken abck by the simplicity and beauty of these mens swimwear shorts. I admit, my eyes lingered on several abs a little longer…but the pieces totally steal the show. In their own words:
“Òkun is a pioneering and premium Africa-inspired mens designer swimwear brand whose ambition is to revitalise beachwear around the globe with vibrant prints and colours in contemporary African style.
Meaning ‘the ocean’ in Yoruba, Òkun was launched in 2012 by IT-nerd turned creative director Bola Marquis who left the corporate world with a dream of building a positive and lasting contemporary African expression in international fashion.”
Sometimes it’s worth splurging on swimwear and if I had to pick one splurge-worthy piece, it would be from Norma Kamali. It’s vibrant, sassy and sexy swimwear range made to flatter the female form.
Bfyne is made for the ultra confident and sexy modern lady. With bang on trend cuts and colours, Bfyne swimwear will always stand out in a crowd.
It’s hard not to go to the biggest online retailer for staple pieces. Not only does Asos stock their own brand but they also stock a repertoire of other brands and such a wide range so you’ll have a darn hard time settling for just one swimsuit.
Mint Swim is a trendy swim-wear brand, pioneered by reality star DrayaMichele. Mint Swim is perfect for the the confident fashionista who isn’t afraid to dare to bare. My favourite pieces are the nude and fleshtone coloured.
Have you got any favourite swimwear brands that I haven’t spotted? Please share, I do love to go out of my comfort zone 😉
Stay fab xx
